A Pastor's Perspective 10-24-2023

Serving our Lord and the members of His church as a minister at Snyder has been a blessing and joy over the last 10 ½ years.   Snyder Memorial Baptist Church allowed me the opportunity to use my gifts to serve the Lord as I served this congregation that quickly became our family.  I’ve emptied my heart loving and caring for our Snyder family to the best of my ability.  Now, I see the need to focus that love and care in other directions.
God has given me a peace about making the decision to retire on December 31, 2023.
While my heart aches at the thought of not being here to love, encourage and care for our congregation and staff each day, I know I now need to focus on being a supportive husband, a loving Dad and a nurturing grandfather.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve, to love, to encourage, to care for, to celebrate so many lives of God’s servants and to serve with a gifted staff of friends.  My heart is full as I ponder the saints we celebrated, teaching Sunday school, VBS, Bible studies, GriefShare, adult trips, Wednesday nights and worshiping with you. Serving you is a privilege and joy Becky and I will always cherish.
You are in great hands with Blake leading our gifted ministers, department heads and ministry assistants - lifelong friends I admire and love.   I will continue to pray for you as you stay focused on our mission to help our community discover God, develop faith and display Christlike love.
Serving Him Together,
Bruce
